Student Group Highlight! A dedicated group of middle school students has been using their lunch time to plan and prepare fun activities for our elementary students as part of the Sources of Strength group. What a great example of leadership and kindness!

In Sources of Strength, students focus on building the qualities that keep us mentally and emotionally strong—like connection, positivity, and support for one another. We’re proud of these students for spreading joy and making an impact across our school community!

Ada Schools is excited to announce a new way to stay connected with families! Beginning with the 2026–2027 school year, the district will transition to ParentSquare, a unified communication platform that will replace Remind and other tools.

ParentSquare will make it easier for families to receive clear, timely updates from classrooms, activities, athletics, and the district—all in one place. Families can choose how they receive messages (text, email, app, or voice), have messages translated into their preferred language, and even customize what types of updates they receive by subscribing to specific classes, groups, or content.

Invitations for families will be sent in August 2026. We’re excited about this step toward stronger, more streamlined communication and keeping our Ada community connected!

Hardin County Sheriff Keith Everhart stopped by as the Mystery Reader in Mrs. Wissman’s classroom and delighted our students with a fun and engaging story.

He read Pigs Make Me Sneeze! by Mo Willems, which had everyone laughing! After the story, Sheriff Everhart took time to answer questions and share what his job is like, giving students a great look into how he helps keep our community safe.

Thank you, Sheriff Everhart, for visiting and making reading extra special!

Big news for Ada Schools!

We are incredibly proud to share that Ada Exempted Village Schools has been recognized by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce with the District Momentum Award!

This honor celebrates exceptional academic growth and continued student achievement—something our entire school community works toward every single day. The Momentum Award is presented to districts and buildings that demonstrate significant improvement in their Performance Index—gaining three or more points year-over-year—while also earning a 4- or 5-star rating on the Progress component of the state report card.

In addition, Ada Elementary School earned the Building-Level Momentum Award, ranking among just 238 schools out of more than 3,100 statewide to receive this recognition!

This achievement highlights the hard work of our students, staff, and families—and reinforces our commitment to striving for excellence in all areas of the school experience.

What a great day for our Book Club! Last week the Book Club had the opportunity to take a field trip filled with collaboration, exploration, and, of course, books! We started the day at Marion Harding High School, where we met with their high school book club. Students enjoyed sharing their favorite reads from this year and learning how each group runs their club—it was a fantastic exchange of ideas! We also received a student-led tour of the school from their teacher assistants.

Next, we visited the Marion Public Library for a behind-the-scenes tour and time to explore everything the library has to offer. After lunch, we wrapped up the day with a stop at Birch Tree Bookery, where students picked out new titles to add to our school’s collection.

It was a fun and meaningful experience for everyone involved—great conversations, new connections, and lots of books!

Our ASL students had a fun and engaging day learning in a whole new way!

All levels participated in an Easter Egg Vocabulary Game, where students searched for matching eggs containing vocabulary words and their definitions. The twist? The entire activity was conducted in American Sign Language—no vocalization allowed!

It was a great way to reinforce learning, build communication skills, and have some seasonal fun at the same time. Awesome work by our students and staff!

Behind every strong school community is an assistant principal helping make it all happen.

From solving challenges to supporting students and staff, assistant principals lead with dedication, resilience, and heart—and this week, we’re proud to celebrate them during Assistant Principal’s Week!

We want to take a moment to recognize and appreciate someone who truly goes above and beyond every single day—Dr. Devier.

Whether he’s supporting students, backing our teachers, or quietly taking on the behind-the-scenes work that often goes unnoticed, Dr. Devier is truly the glue that holds our school together. We are incredibly fortunate to have such a dedicated, compassionate, and driven leader in our building.

Let’s all take a moment this week to give him a well-deserved THANK YOU! #APWeek #AssistantPrincipalsWeek #SchoolLeadership
