Seventh and eighth graders are able to explore world languages for a semester as part of their electives. In Intro to ASL, students recently learned signs related to animals. Each student researched a specific animal, discovered the corresponding signs, and then taught their classmates through presentations.

It’s been a fun, hands-on way to build language skills, confidence, and appreciation for communication in all its forms!

Ada Schools is proud to be recognized as a Heart Safe School through Nationwide Children’s Hospital!

This designation reflects months of preparation, staff training, and a commitment to keeping our students, staff, and visitors safe. After a successful final drill on May 4, our district was honored with a banner and certificate through the Project ADAM program. Project ADAM helps schools nationwide implement programs to make automated external defibrillators (AEDs) readily available by preparing schools for a cardiac emergency through emergency response plans, staff CPR and AED training, student CPR education, and sudden cardiac arrest awareness education.

A special thank you to the staff members who went above and beyond to make this possible—your dedication and readiness to respond in an emergency truly make a difference. We are proud to be Heart Safe at Ada!

Today, Ada Schools proudly recognizes Ohio Bus Driver Appreciation Day and the incredible individuals who safely transport our students each day.

Our bus drivers are often the first friendly face students see in the morning and the last one they see in the afternoon. They go above and beyond to ensure every ride is safe, welcoming, and dependable—rain, shine, or snow.

We are grateful for their commitment, patience, and care for our students and families. Their role is essential to our school community, and we appreciate all they do behind the wheel and beyond.

Please join us in thanking our Ada bus drivers for the important work they do every single day!

In Mrs. Alexander’s class, students took part in a reading incentive program from the Fort Wayne TinCaps (thanks to Dr. Devier for finding this opportunity!). Over four weeks, each student committed to reading 100 minutes per week outside of school—and their hard work paid off!

Along the way, students earned prizes (thank you to our amazing Ada Academic Boosters!), and in the end, 40 students qualified for the reward. Of those, 23 students attended the game and enjoyed lunch together. The Bulldogs had an unforgettable time—catching baseballs tossed by players and making memories to last a lifetime! One highlight was Braden snagging a ball with his Wilson glove—definitely picture-worthy!

Thank you again to the Academic Boosters and Dr. Devier for helping make this opportunity possible. What a win for our students!

Students in Styer’s Seventh Grade World History class recently brought history to life by designing and building their very own castles. From towering walls and detailed battlements to creative layouts and unique defenses, each project showcased both their understanding of medieval times and their creativity.

Students had two months to research, design, and build their own castles, with labels showing at least six of the twelve main parts of a castle—an impressive display of both knowledge and craftsmanship!
