Ada Elementary and the United Way's SOUPER Bowl Challenge!
Ada Elementary is once again partnering with the United Way of Hardin County for our annual SOUPER Bowl! Students in grades K–5 will be competing to bring in the most canned and non-perishable food items as they try to score the big touchdown. The class that collects the most items will earn a pizza party! 🍕 More importantly, all donations will help support local food banks and homeless shelters right here in our community.
📅 Donation dates: January 26 – February 6
Join us in this fun competition and help make a difference. Thank you for supporting our students and our community!

Our second graders have been diving into history by reading biographies and learning about famous people! Each student completed a biography report during class and then shared what they learned through a short presentation. Some even chose to dress like the person they studied, which made the experience extra fun and memorable!
Students enjoyed discovering and discussing interesting facts about people from history while building their reading and presentation skills. It was wonderful to see their enthusiasm, creativity, and curiosity on display!

Although outdoor recess has been a little harder to come by with these frigid winter temperatures, we’re excited to start the new year with a new book in our Storybook Walk at Ada Elementary!
Our Storybook Walk is refreshed each quarter, and this quarter students are enjoying The Littlest Yak by Lu Fraser, beautifully illustrated by Kate Hindley. It’s a wonderful way to keep our students moving, reading, and smiling—even on chilly days! 🐂✨

🎙️📚 Podcast Premiere in 7th Grade Language Arts! 📚🎙️
This week Mr. Deitering’s 7th grade language arts classes wrapped up their Chasing Lincoln’s Killer unit in a creative way—by presenting each chapter as individual podcast episodes!
Students spent the week designing the podcast background which featured wanted posters and practicing their scripts to be read as an podcast episode. Mr. Deitering encourage students to give the scripts life - interact their partner and bring life to the content in a podcast-way. It was a fun and engaging way to bring history and literacy together while building speaking and storytelling skills.
Great work to our 7th graders for their creativity and effort! 👏🎧

🎨 Mr. Wells’ high school art class goes beyond traditional art and design—students are fully immersing themselves in their creative practice!
Some are even reaching all the way to their toes 👣✨. Rose Baxter is pictured here practicing for a unique “no-hands” throwing competition that will be hosted at Bluffton University.
We love seeing our students explore creativity in new, unexpected ways and take their learning beyond the classroom. Way to go, Rose! 👏
